The road to Ogimachi
From our stream in Shirotori to the thatched heart of Shirakawa-go, the usual drive is about one hour and fifteen minutes. Winter storms can stretch it — leave while the light is kind if the forecast looks hard.
Let us take the wheel
Say the night before and we will drive: ¥12,000 out, ¥20,000 return. Public buses exist, but the timetable shifts with the season — we will hand you the current one when you book.
Widen the circle
Takayama’s old streets are about fifty-five minutes from the lodge; Gujo-Hachiman, with its summer Odori, about thirty-five. Either pairs cleanly with Shirakawa-go without turning the day into a march.
