The local line
Ride the Nagaragawa Railway to Mino-Shirotori. Send your arrival and we will collect you at the station or a nearby bus stop — free, once each day. Outside that window we can still arrange a paid run.
Shinkansen edges
Gifu-Hashima is the nearer bullet-train door — about ninety minutes by road (¥15,000 / ¥25,000 return). Nagoya is longer (~two hours; ¥20,000 / ¥35,000 return) and often kinder when the luggage is heavy.
The first evening
Shirotori keeps onsen, kitchens, bakeries and shops about ten minutes out; a convenience store is a pleasant fifteen-minute walk. Five rental bikes open the quieter valley roads at ¥1,500 a day.
